Hydration for schools

Drinking in Schools is a new report by the Expert Group on Hydration providing a detailed look at the hydration status of schools around the UK and guidance on how to solve the existing hydration-related issues.

The new report provides guidance for teachers in understanding the importance of adequate hydration for children’s health and academic performance, a message that is not sufficiently covered as part of the National Curriculum.

The British Soft Drinks Association represents the UK’s manufacturers of soft drinks, including fruit juices and bottled waters. Its education programme is intended to promote understanding of the importance of a balanced diet, an active lifestyle and adequate fluid intake in maintaining good health, and to promote awareness of the soft drinks industry as a manufacturing industry. The programme has no commercial function and mentions no companies and no brands.

Liquids Mean Life is divided into two sections: for Key Stages 1 and 2 (4 to 11 years) and for Key Stages 3 and 4 (11 to 16 years).
